Excuse my religious ignorance, but I think this thing is a Buddha.

It was seated inside a temple in Fuzhou, China. It towered above me in a dim room. I rested my camera on the gate to get a steady shot. The gate was suspiciously not steady. I was horribly worried that I would destroy the entrance to some kind of religious sanctuary.

This temple which contained this was a surprise to me as it was just so unassuming. It was hidden amongst the dirty blocks of flats and not too far from a market. The market, in turn, is not too far from recognisable retail. Fuzhou has a very interesting mix or blend of stuff.
